At first glance, this is a wonderful 1940s velvet dress with pockets. But upon closer inspection, we believe it is a 1970s handmade piece (by a very talented dressmaker). Still with pockets! Plush deep purple velvet is tailored with pointed seams at the bust and hourglass darting at the waist, dolman cut articulated sleeves and a hook & eye fastener at the cuff for a tight fit. Overall, quite a stunner!
• Fits a size S/M, Petite
• Velvet, synthetic, very plush and thick
• Glossy black buttons (decorative) on the front
• Long metal zipper down the back
• Small foldover collar
• Good condition, structurally fine but there is bit of sun fading on the left bodice and sleeve (see in detailed pic). This also looks a lot like the sheen of the velvet in the light.
• Style No. D1975
