Wildly unique vintage dress with a funky fit/flare silhouette and incredible graphic print. The bodice has a squared neckline with foldover detail, thick straps and long angled seams to a slightly dropped waist. Very unusual craftsmanship with geometric angular construction, allowing for mega volume at the sides of the skirt and a streamlined front/back center. It’s hard to explain, very interesting seam work!
The dress has a slightly rough yet also expertly made quality to it. It’s well done but there is a lot of hand stitching and no finishing to the edges. Label “Livio de Simone, made in Capri-Italy”. Our guess is that this is either a older sample or was very altered. It’s also possible that just the fabric (not the design/construction) was by Livio de Simone, as they were known for pattern design and this fabric is very indicative of their style.
