Ultra rare and collectible vintage CHAR 1960s hand painted leather bag with statement tassel in the center and signature whipstitching around the edges. Beautifully crafted with great quality leather (still soft and strong after 50+ years), nice structured shape with wide bottom, medium sized interior and cool golden braided rope straps. The motif on the front of the bag is a teal and cranberry red floral paisley scene with crosshatching and flourishes. This looks like an earlier work from CHAR, probably late 1960s. Leather label inside is signed Char and stamped Hecho en Mexico.

• Great condition, the leather is in excellent shape with just normal aging over the years and no flaws. The rope straps were a darker golden hue, and are faded to a lighter yellow in some parts. But they’re strong and have no damage other than the fading. The tassel is a little tussled but overall in great shape.
