A sophisticated romantic dress in a lightweight gauzy linen with the perfect amount of drape. Embroidered appliqué florets dance around the two pockets and square neckline. Nicely fitted forties (yet so modern) silhouette with tailored shoulders, short sleeves, banded waist and looser flared hemline lined with weighty silk satin inside to keep a good flow. From label Julius Garfinckel & Co. Washington, circa 1940s.
